The Final Mercury Retrograde of 2021 — The Charleston Astrologer

It’s that time of year again, when the tricky planet Mercury (planet of communication, commerce, and travel) goes retrograde and appears to be moving backwards in the sky. This dreaded cosmic occurrence happens three times a year in a particular element; and this year it happened to be in the element of air.

If you can recall, in February it went retrograde in Aquarius. In June, it went retrograde in Gemini. And now in October, it is retrograde in Libra, the sign of love and relationships.

So when Mercury goes retrograde in the sign of Libra, the universe is calling upon you to revisit any past relationships that still need tending to. This could be an old friend, family member, or love interest. Were there things left unsaid that need to be addressed? Now is your opportunity to make things right!

If you’re thinking to yourself, “I don’t have anything to say to anyone from my past!” I implore you to try the following exercise during this transit.

First, place both hands over your heart and close your eyes. Then ask your higher self to show you who from your past you need to reconnect with now for your own healing.

Once you see the person in your mind’s eye, don’t brush it aside! Now you have two options; either you have a conversation with this person, or you simply need to write them a letter and burn it. Either way, you allow your feelings to be recognized, and the energy of this Mercury Retrograde is fulfilled!

Like I said before, this transit is often dreaded by many. But if you can work WITH this energy instead of against it, I believe you’ll make it through the next few weeks with flying, healing colors.
